PROJECT 26

In Loving

Memory of

Jacob M. Garcia

The mission of Project 26 is to support and encourage families that have children with cancer and other life threating illnesses. Each month a special delivery will be made to local hospital’s where children are receiving treatment for their sickness. Whether through a poem, food, or personal necessities the goal is to remind families they are not alone and there is hope.

The birth of Project 26 came through the pain of losing our 5-months son due to brain cancer. For 30-days the doctors and nurses at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles treated our son and provided excellent care for our family. During those dark moments of our lives, we were surrounded by the support that helped us through the life-changing circumstance that happened in the blink of an eye. Our lives were open to see a world that we never knew existed but understood it was not for us to walk away once our son passed. On December 26, 2018, our son took his last breath in a hospital room, but at the same moment Project 26 was given birth to support others. On the 26th of every month, a special gift will be delivered to the CHLA in hopes to encourage and help families. Our son Jacob gave us an opportunity to love and care for him that continues to drive our lives to do the same towards others.
